El Centro, California - The El Centro Police Department is working with law enforcement agencies across the state to promote safe behaviors that allow drivers and those on foot to get where they need to go safely.

El Centro, California - Last Night, at approximately 8:40 pm, officers from the El Centro Police Department responded to the area of Imperial and Elm in reference to reports of a traffic collision which involved a school bus.  Officers arrived on scene  and verified that a Yuma High School bus full of female volleyball players had collided with two vehicles waiting for the red light at Hamilton Ave. 

El Centro, California - On Thursday, Officers from the El Centro Police Department were looking for an outstanding suspect of a robbery, burglary, as well as a recent auto theft from the City of Yuma.  22 year old El Centro resident Andrew Sanchez was also wanted for a violation of probation. 

Holtville, California - This evening Imperial County Fire Department and Office of Emergency Services responded to a traffic collision on HWY 111 Worthington Road. The accident involved a mid size sedan and a Holtville School district van carrying the Holtville Highschool Volleyball Team.

Calexico, California - U.S. Border Patrol agents assigned to the El Centro Sector arrested a Sureño gang member on Saturday afternoon.

El Centro, California - Thursday, Representative Juan Vargas (CA-51) hosted a press conference to announce his plan to introduce the Asthma Care and Prevention in Rural Communities Act. This legislation will be introduced with original cosponsors Rep. Eliot L. Engel (NY-16) and Rep. TJ Cox (CA-21) when the House returns to session in September. Reps. Vargas, Engel and Cox are Members of the House Asthma and Allergy Caucus.
