El Centro, California - The owners of Tenaska Imperial Solar Energy Center South and Tenaska Imperial Solar Energy Center West, utility-scale solar projects in Imperial County, have awarded a total of $8,000 in college scholarships to graduating Imperial County high school students.

Imperial, California - The Imperial County Fire Department and Office of Emergency Services were on scene of a military helicopter CH-53 E Super Stallion that caught on fire at the Imperial County Airport. Crews received a call to respond at 1:06pm of an aircraft on fire.

El Centro, California - Yesterday June 3, 2019, at about just after noon (12:12 pm), El Centro Police Department dispatch advised patrol vehicles of a hit they received on a stolen vehicle. The hit was derived from regional Automated License Plate Reader (ALPR) program which sends automatic alerts into the El Centro Police Department Communications Center. The vehicle information indicated the stolen car was a 1999, Honda, Civic and was northbound on Imperial Avenue.

El Centro, California - In an effort to reach all communities within Imperial County, the Board of Supervisors have announced a series of off-site meetings in each supervisorial district throughout the year.   The meetings are open to the public and residents from all districts are encouraged to attend.
