Santa Ana, California - The founder and chief executive officer of a firm that solicited more than $5 million from victims who thought they were investing in “reverse life insurance” policies has been found guilty of federal fraud charges.

San Francisco, California - Three alleged members of the 19th Street Sureños street gang were arraigned in federal court Thursday on murder, racketeering and firearms charges following a probe by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s (ICE) Homeland Security Investigations and the San Francisco Police Department into a gang-related killing that occurred in July.

San Diego, California - Today, Mila, the African elephant from New Zealand, celebrated the first anniversary of her arrival to the San Diego Zoo with some special edible treats. The 42-year-old elephant arrived in San Diego on Nov. 14, 2014, through collaboration with the Franklin Zoo Charitable Trust.  Animal care staff celebrated by providing Mila treats of pineapple, flowers and banana stalks.
