Washington, DC - A former U.S. resident and taxpayer who was charged along with three others in connection with a decades-long criminal scheme perpetrated by Mossack Fonseca & Co. (Mossack Fonseca), a Panamanian-based global law firm, and its related entities, pleaded guilty Tuesday to wire and tax fraud, money laundering, false statements and other charges.

New York - The Department of Justice announced Tuesday that it reached a settlement with Chancery Staffing Solutions LLC (Chancery Staffing), a legal staffing company headquartered in New York, New York, also known as TransPerfect Staffing Solutions (TransPerfect Staffing). The settlement is intended to resolve the Department’s claims that the staffing company violated the Immigration and Nationality Act (INA) when, at a law firm client’s directive, it screened out work authorized non-U.S. citizens and U.S. citizens with dual citizenship from a document review project without a lawful basis.

Hartford, Connecticut - Two former executives of the Indonesian subsidiary of the French power and transportation company Alstom S.A. and a former executive of the Japanese trading company Marubeni Corporation have been charged in a superseding indictment unsealed Tuesday for their alleged participation in a scheme to pay bribes to foreign government officials in Indonesia.
