Salton City, California - Recognizing that close cooperation between local land-use agencies at the Salton Sea is pivotal to progress among all parties with shared interests at the Salton Sea, Riverside and Imperial Counties have forged an historic Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for cooperative planning at the Salton Sea. “This MOU adopted by the Counties is born of a spirit of cooperation that is welcomed at the Salton Sea Authority. It is through genuine cooperation and consultation that amazing new progress is being accomplished at the Sea,” stated Thomas Tortez, President of the Salton Sea Authority and Chairman of the Torres Martinez Band of Cahuilla Indians.

Palo Verde, California - Yuma Sector Border Patrol agents assigned to the Highway 78 Immigration Checkpoint near Palo Verde, California arrested two male United States citizens along with three Mexican nationals and one Guatemalan national in an attempted human smuggling event Sunday.

Niland, California - U.S. Border Patrol agents assigned to the El Centro Sector arrested a previously deported sex offender, along with four other individuals at the Highway 111 Checkpoint early Monday morning.

El Centro, California - Friday, afternoon, the Imperial County Registrar of Voters issued another “Unofficial Election Results” update on the Registrar’s website, for the June 5, 2018 Primary Election. The unofficial update includes all polling place voters, vote-by-mail ballots and approximately 400 provisional ballots.  This is not a final tally of all ballots.
