Washington, DC - The United States welcomes the safe evacuation of more than 400 members of the Syrian Civil Defense, otherwise known as the White Helmets, and their families from southwest Syria. We are glad that these ‎brave volunteers, who have saved thousands of lives, are now out of harm's way.

Brooklyn, New York - A federal jury in Brooklyn Wednesday, following two weeks of trial, convicted Dr. Martin Tesher of 10 counts of unlawful distribution of oxycodone without legitimate medical purpose to five patients, one of whom died as a result two days after his last visit with the defendant.  When sentenced by United States District Judge Raymond J. Dearie, Dr. Tesher faces a mandatory minimum sentence of 20 years’ imprisonment and a maximum of life in prison.

Miami, Florida - U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP), Air and Marine Operations (AMO) Miami Air and Marine Branch (MAMB) working in partnership with the U.S. Coast Guard (USCG) detected and interdicted a rustic vessel with 28 Cuban migrants. The Coast Guard Cutter Isaac Mayo crew repatriated 28 migrants yesterday to Bahia de Cabañas, Cuba.
