Washington, DC - U.S. Secretary of Commerce Penny Pritzker will lead a delegation of U.S. government officials to the Investment and Entrepreneurship Conference in Tunis, Tunisia this week.

Secretary Pritzker will deliver the keynote address at the conference, which is organized  by the Partners for a New Beginning - North Africa Partnership for Economic Opportunity (PNB-NAPEO), the Department of State, and the American Chamber of Commerce in Tunisia. PNB-NAPEO is a public-private partnership of U.S. and North Africa business leaders, entrepreneurs, civil society leaders, and governments. During her remarks, Secretary Pritzker will discuss the United States' support for Tunisia's bold embrace of democracy, and detail the reforms necessary for the region to unleash growth and attract job-creating investment. She will also highlight the programs and mechanisms through which the U.S. government is supporting the people and economy of Tunisia.

While in Tunis, Secretary Pritzker will also lead a roundtable with Tunisian entrepreneurs to discuss how entrepreneurs around the world contribute to innovation, the economy, and civil society. As the Administration's point person on entrepreneurship, Secretary Pritzker will use this roundtable to talk about the challenges and opportunities facing start-ups in country. Additionally, Secretary Pritzker will hold meetings with Tunisian government officials, business leaders, and the Tunisian American Chamber of Commerce.
