Imperial, California - The 28th annual installment of Freedom Fest is coming to the campus of Imperial Valley College on Wednesday, July 4th.  This year there will be something new for the Kids.

WOW Factor Attractions will be bringing 3 different attractions to Freedom Fest.  One is the Jurassic Jungle Adventure featuring surprising obstacles, dead ends, interactive dinosaurs and more during the journey to find your way out down the extreme escape slide.  Another is the Xorbing Battle Balls.  These are giant balls you can run, jump, roll, and bounce inside of.  The third is the Themed Air Tunnel Drop Zone Rides.  Riders are lifted high up into the air when the top dome is inflated.  The riders are free to swing around and bounce off the walls on the way up.  After a brief moment of being suspended at the top, they parachute down at the speed of your choice.  Plus, the Imperial Valley Desert Museum is back by popular demand with their free Coiled Clay event for the kids.

Each year, Freedom Fest offers a wide variety of food, beverage, merchandise, and information booths and this year will be no exception.

FM 107.5 will once again produce and underwrite the fireworks show, synchronized to music, on behalf of the Imperial Chamber of Commerce. This year’s theme for Freedom Fest 2018 is “Celebrate Freedom” honoring our brave men and women of the military both past and present.

“Through the years, Freedom Fest has had some great static displays and this year promises to have something to interest everyone.” stated retired CHP officer & committee member, Roland Pritchard.  “Kids and adults alike will enjoy seeing the ICSO/REACH Red Medical Helicopter.  Imperial County Sheriff’s Office will have a variety of emergency response vehicles on display including an armored vehicle, sand rail, dive truck, quads and more. CBP is back again this year with their K-9 units & handlers and special response team.  Look for the DEA information booth this year, too.  Returning to assist our Freedom Fest guests again this year is the IVC Tennis Team Rickshaws & Pedi cabs. They will be shuttling Freedom Fest guests from the North parking lot to athletic grounds free of charge.”

“Each year the Freedom Fest Committee receives tremendous support from the Imperial Valley College, cities, county, state, and federal agencies to help put this event on”, stated Gene Brister, President & General Manager of KXO AM1230/FM 107.5 and co-founder of the event.  “We’re also very fortunate to have a major buy-in of Diamond sponsorships: Imperial Valley Resource Management Agency, Imperial Printers/Rocket Copy, Sun Community Federal Credit Union, Valley Plaza Shopping Center, Pepsi, and El Centro Regional Medical Center .”
