Calexico, California - Today, U.S. Border Patrol agents from the Calexico station arrested four illegal immigrants near the Imperial Sand Dunes suspected of smuggling approximately 182 pounds of marijuana, with an estimated value of more than $109,000.

Imperial Valley, California - U.S. Customs and Border Protection officials in the Imperial Valley are anticipating an increase in applications by Mexican travelers for the required I-94 permit during the Christmas and New Year’s holiday season.  Mexican border crossing card (or “laser visa”) holders who plan to visit the U.S. for more than 30-days and or will travel more than 25 miles from the border during the upcoming travel season, are urged to obtain the essential document early instead of waiting until the day of travel.

Calexico, California - Monday, U.S. Border Patrol agents assigned to the Calexico Station arrested a previously deported convicted sex offender near the downtown area approximately one mile east of the Port of Entry.

Salton City, California - On Monday, El Centro Sector Border Patrol agents assigned to the Indio Station arrested a suspected female drug smuggler at the Highway 86 checkpoint after discovering fourteen hidden packages of drugs in an aftermarket compartment located in the trunk area.

Imperial Valley, California - Monday, U.S. Border Patrols agents assigned to the El Centro Station seized 970 pounds of marijuana from a failed drug smuggling attempt.
