Sacramento, California - State Superintendent of Public Instruction Tom Torlakson today congratulated Nicole Naditz, a French language teacher from Bella Vista High School in the San Juan Unified School District , Fair Oaks, Sacramento County, for being selected the 2015 National Language Teacher of the Year.

"I congratulate Nicole for receiving this high honor," Torlakson said. "As an outstanding language teacher, she is giving her students a skill that will increase their understanding of other cultures and help them succeed in our increasingly global economy."

Ms. Naditz was selected by the American Council on the Teaching of Foreign Languages and was presented with her award last week during its 2014 Convention & World Languages Expo in San Antonio, Texas.
