Brooklyn, New York - Yesterday, at the federal courthouse in Brooklyn, Asia Siddiqui and Noelle Velentzas, both citizens of the United States and residents of Queens, pleaded guilty to teaching and distributing information pertaining to the making and use of an explosive, destructive device, and weapon of mass destruction, intending that it be used to commit a federal crime of violence.  The guilty pleas were entered before United States District Court Judge Sterling Johnson Jr.  When sentenced, the defendants face up to 20 years in prison.

Lawrence, Kansas - A researcher at the University of Kansas (KU) was indicted Wednesday on federal charges of hiding the fact he was working full time for a Chinese university while doing research at KU funded by the U.S. government.

Los Angeles, California - A federal jury found two Los Angeles pharmacy owners guilty Tuesday for their participation in a $35 million health care fraud and money laundering scheme to bill Medicare for medications that were never provided and to launder the proceeds of the fraud.

Seattle, Washington - A federal grand jury has indicted a Washington woman for false declarations before the grand jury and obstruction of justice.

Boston, Massachusetts - A Florida man who was charged with conducting an extensive cyberstalking campaign that targeted his former schoolmate, a 30-year-old Massachusetts woman, pleaded guilty Tuesday in federal court in Boston.  The victim’s name is being withheld to protect her privacy.

Charlotte, North Carolina - A telemarketer was sentenced to 63 months in prison followed by three years of supervised release Tuesday for his role in a $10 million telemarketing scheme that defrauded primarily elderly victims in the United States from call centers in Costa Rica.
