Commercial Flooring Executive Indicted on Money Laundering Charge as Part of a Long-Running Bid Rigging Investigation

Chicago, Illinois - A federal grand jury in the Northern District of Illinois returned a one-count indictment charging Michael Zmijewski for his role in a money laundering conspiracy involving kickbacks. Zmijewski is a former President of Mr. David’s Flooring International LLC (Mr. David’s), a Chicago-based commercial flooring contractor. Zmijewski is the sixth individual, along with three companies, that have been charged as result of the ongoing federal antitrust investigation.

San Diego, California - The U.S. Border Patrol (USBP) San Diego Sector (SDC) in collaboration with the Government of Mexico (GoM) conducted an operation on Wednesday, September 1st, 2021, targeting the organization believed to be responsible for the assault on a Border Patrol agent.  A total of five individuals were arrested, to include one United States Citizen. Ammunition, narcotics, vehicles, and a cache of makeshift ladders used for smuggling purposes were also seized.
