Irving, Texas - The National Football Foundation (NFF) and Pop Warner Little Scholars, Inc., the nation's largest and oldest youth football organization, today announced a partnership to enhance the sport through a variety of initiatives and research projects that promote participation, health and safety, academic achievement, and the community involvement of the young athletes who play football.
"Pop Warner's partnership with the National Football Foundation presents a tremendous opportunity to positively influence more athletes and improve the sport of football," said Jon Butler, executive director of Pop Warner Little Scholars. "Both organizations share a common belief in the life-long lessons that come from playing football, and we look forward to collaborating."
The two organizations will work closely to identify trends and opportunities to strengthen the youth sports experience. Spearheaded by Pop Warner, areas of collaboration will include coaches training, equipment changes, and the promotion of academic achievement and community leadership by those involved with the sport.
"We are excited to team with Pop Warner, using the full power of the National Football Foundation to expand on our collective initiatives to promote the good in the game," said NFF President & CEO Steve Hatchell. "Pop Warner and the NFF share a mutual understanding of the power of football in developing leadership and academic achievement in our nation's young people, and by working together we will magnify our ability to ensure the strength of our sport."
