Congressman Filner Statement on Supreme Court Upholding the Affordable Care Act

Washington, DC - U.S. Congressman Bob Filner issued the following statement after the Supreme Court ruled today to uphold the Affordable Care Act:
“The Supreme Court rightly upheld the main provisions of the Affordable Care Act which will continue to provide millions of Americans with access to health care.
“Health insurance bureaucrats can no longer deny a child health care because of a pre-existing condition, millions of young Americans can receive coverage through their family plans until they are 26 and women and minorities are protected from discrimination in health care.
“Health care should not be reserved only for the privileged few, but accessible to all Americans. The Supreme Court upheld that goal today.”
