Washington, DC - As part of the Administration’s effort to cut energy waste in the nation’s buildings and double energy productivity by 2030, the Energy Department today announced $14 million to dramatically increase the efficiency of our nation’s homes and buildings. These projects will cut energy costs for thousands of American families and businesses, while leading to greater demand for new building products and technologies, many of which can be produced in the U.S.

Washington, DC - Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack announced the enrollment of more than 800,000 acres in the Conservation Reserve Program (CRP). Through CRP, the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) helps farmers offset the costs of restoring, enhancing and protecting certain grasses, shrubs and trees that improve water quality, prevent soil erosion and strengthen wildlife habitat. Farmers' and ranchers' participation in CRP continues to provide numerous benefits to our nation, including helping reduce emissions of harmful greenhouse gases and providing resiliency to future weather changes.

Washington, DC - The U.S. Department of Education released a report yesterday titled “The State of Racial Diversity in the Educator Workforce,” in conjunction with the National Summit on Teacher Diversity held at the Department. The report reviews trends in the diversity of elementary and secondary school educators, and examines the teacher pipeline from enrollment in postsecondary education to entrance into the teaching workforce and beyond.

Washington, DC - The U.S. Department of State announced today that it has welcomed eight new partner institutions to the Diplomacy Lab. The University of Pittsburgh, Georgia Institute of Technology, Georgetown University, Tufts University, Indiana University Bloomington, Gettysburg College, Stockton University, and Wilbur Wright College—Diplomacy Lab’s first community college partner—will join the 20 existing university partners for the program’s fall 2016 semester.
