Washington, DC - Today, the Obama Administration will host the first-ever White House Summit on Next Generation High Schools. The event will highlight students, educators, philanthropists, and entrepreneurs who are reinventing the high school experience to better empower students to seize opportunities in today’s economy, and prepare students for success in college and career. 

Washington, DC - Today, Representative Juan Vargas (D-CA-51) and Representative Jeff Denham (R-CA-10) launched the Immigrant Servicemembers and Veterans Caucus, in an effort to focus on issues related to current Servicemembers and Veterans who are immigrants or on a pathway to a lawful immigration status. On the eve of Veteran’s Day, the caucuses launched to honor and recognize the contributions of immigrants who have and are serving in the military.

San Diego, California - Members of Congress and the U.S. Strategic Command (USSTRATCOM) commander were aboard the USS Kentucky when the U.S. Navy's Strategic Systems Programs (SSP) conducted a successful test flight of a Trident II D5 Missile, November 7, 2015, to obtain valid reliability, accuracy and performance factors for use by the Joint Chiefs of Staff and USSTRATCOM.
