Imperial County, California - Robert Menvielle, Imperial County Assessor, reminds all business owners that the last day to file a timely 2016 Business Property Statement without receiving a penalty is by 5:00 p.m. on Monday, May 9, 2016.

The filing date specified in the Revenue and Taxation Code is May 7, 2016; however since the date falls on a Saturday, the filing deadline has been extended to May 9.  Business Property Statements will be considered timely filed if they are delivered to the Assessor’s Office, 940 West Main Street, Suite 115, El Centro by Monday, May 9 before 5:00 p.m. or postmarked May 9, 2016 by the United States Postal Service.

Business personal property is reported to the Assessor on form BOE-571 – L (or A for Agriculture; R for apartments).  The BOE-571 forms are available on the Assessor’s web page located at
