Imperial, California - A military aircraft crashed in a residential area in the Imperial Valley, this afternoon.
The aircraft was a Marine Aircraft Wing AV-8B Harrier that was stationed out of MCAS Yuma, Arizona. The plane went down around 4:20 p.m. in the City of Imperial,
A military aircraft crashed in a residential area on Fonzie Avenue near the intersection with Cabo San Lucas Avenue. The planes impact with the ground ignited at least one home on fire while and causing an unknown amount of damage to others.
The pilot of the AV-8B Harrier was able to safely eject just before the crash, the unidentified pilot was transported to Pioneers Memorial Hospital in Brawley, California for observation.
There are no injuries reported at this time.
