Holtville, California - This Friday, State Assemblymember V. Manuel Pérez will join with the California United Homecare Workers and local health experts for a Town Hall on the Affordable Care Act. To be held in Holtville at the Barbara Worth Resort & Country Club, the purpose of the event is to inform Imperial Valley residents about the Affordable Care Act, California's healthcare exchange known as Covered California, and Medi-Cal expansion.
“I’m excited to be participating in this Friday’s Town Hall, and I encourage people to attend,” said Assemblymember Pérez. “With over 2.6 million Californians eligible for federal assistance and lower premiums through Covered California, it is essential that communities are informed and know how to access these new services and benefits.”
The Town Hall will include a panel, followed by a question and answer session. Confirmed speakers include: V. Manuel Perez, 56th District California State Assemblymember; Peggy Price, Health and Human Services Director, Imperial County; and Robin Hodgkin, Director of Public Health, Imperial County. The event will also feature information and resource booths from local providers.
Imperial Valley residents interested in receiving more information about the Affordable Care Act and Medi-Cal expansion are encouraged to attend. Spanish translation will be provided.
