What: Imperial Valley Economic Development Corporation will be hosting the 6th Annual Imperial Valley Renewable Energy Summit & Expo, powered by the Imperial Irrigation District. This year’s event will highlight 6 featured speakers, 4 panel discussions with industry experts, trade show, banquet, bus tour of renewable projects already generating energy or under construction and plenty of networking opportunities.

Who: IVEDC is eager to announce that the Imperial Irrigation District will be sponsoring the Banquet, Thursday, March 14, which wi ll feature keynote Michael Picker, Senior Advisor to the Governor for Renewable Energy Facilities, Office of Governor Edmund G. Brown, Jr. Additional Featured Speakers will include: Opening Speaker, Jonathan Weisgall, VP, Legislative and Regulatory Affairs, MidAmerican Energy Holdings Company, a subsidiary of Berkshire Hathaway, featured keynote Andy Horne, Deputy County Executive Officer Natural Resources Development, Imperial County and Chair of the California Energy Commission, Dr. Robert Weisenmiller who was appointed to the California Energy Commission by Governor Schwarzenegger in January 2010, and by Governor Jerry Brown in January 2011. Furthermore, the County of Imperial will be sponsoring breakfast, Thursday, March 14th. In addition, the exhibit hall will house 23 vendors, which will offer the opportunity to learn about the latest in renewable energy equipment and services.
