Prior recipients include Starbucks chairman and CEO Howard Schultz, American Express chairman and CEO Kenneth Chenault, FedEx Corp. chairman and CEO Frederick W. Smith, and business executive Peter Ueberroth.
Proceeds from the dinner event will fund three John Wooden Global Leadership Student Fellowships for UCLA Anderson students who emobdy the leadership qualities and values that Wooden embraced and advocated.
Nooyi, named PepsiCo's CEO in 2006, leads a $65 billion global food and beverage powerhouse with a portfolio that includes 22 brands that each generate more than $1 billion in annual retail sales. The company's main businesses - Quaker, Tropicana, Gatorade, Frito-Lay and Pepsi-Cola - make hundreds of snacks and beverages sold around the world.
Nooyi has consistently delivered strong business and financial results while also taking steps to set PepsiCo on a course toward sustainable long-term growth, particularly through the company's "Performance With Purpose" business strategy, which focuses on reducing operating costs and minimizing environmental impacts, ensuring a diverse and inclusive workplace, and playing a positive role in local communities where PepsiCo operates.
