Sacramento, California - The California Department of Food and Agriculture's (CDFA) Fertilizer Research and Education Program (FREP) is pleased to announce the award of over $1.1 million in grant funds to agricultural organizations and universities. These grants will fund six projects that will improve the efficiency and reduce the environmental impact of fertilizer use in California agriculture and will advance farmers' understanding and implementation of best management practices for fertilizer and irrigation management.

Los Angeles, California - Thirteen members of an Inglewood street gang have been charged in a series of indictments returned by a federal grand jury, it was announced Wednesday by United States Attorney Nicola T. Fresno, California - William Lee, 41, of Fresno, was sentenced Wednesday by Chief U.S. District Judge Lawrence J. O’Neill to 10 years in prison for conspiracy to commit murder in aid of racketeering, U.S. Attorney McGregor W. Scott announced. 

Santa Rosa, California - A Santa Rosa, California, real estate salesperson was sentenced to 24 months in prison Thursday for filing a false income tax return that did not report income earned from the sale of marijuana, announced Principal Deputy Assistant Attorney General Richard E. Zuckerman of the Justice Department’s Tax Division and United States Attorney Alex G. Tse of the Northern District of California.
