Sacramento, California - Governor Edmund G. Brown Jr. today announced the following appointments:

Sacramento, California - For a lot of our farmers here in California, this is about the time of year when we stand back with pride and a little relief that the harvest is done. There is always plenty more work to be done, but for anyone who has taken part in that annual ritual, it’s a great feeling. It’s an achievement, a milestone, the end of something – but it’s also the start of something.

Twentynine Palms, California -  Joshua Tree National Park will host the 2015 Joshua Tree National Park Night Sky Festival this weekend, beginning Friday, October 16th and ending Sunday, October 18th. This event will kick off the NPS Centennial year of celebration, marking the 100th birthday of the National Park Service. The festival will feature a variety of activities scheduled at a number of different locations in the park as well as the Sky's the Limit Observatory, located just outside the park's north entrance.

Sacramento, California - The next segment in the Growing California video series, a partnership with California Grown, is “Growing Together,” a profile of closely-knit farmers flourishing in the Central Valley.

Redding, California - Whiskeytown National Recreation Area will hold a public meeting on October 21, 2015, at 6 p.m. at Redding's City Hall at 777 Cypress Street to present the Whiskeytown Draft Accessibility Self-Evaluation and Transition Plan. As part of the planning process, the National Park Service is seeking public comment on the draft plan.

Davis, California - Dogs and cats may provide their human companions with more than love and affection. From cancer and osteoarthritis to inflammatory bowel and heart disease, animals are afflicted with many of the same ailments found in people.
