Yosemite Valley, California - Yosemite National Park and The Ansel Adams Gallery sponsored a Gateway Expressions Student Art and Poetry Contest in September. Over 250 submissions were received, a record,  from local community schools. Artwork was divided into categories and winning pieces were selected by park staff and park partners. Winning student artwork and poetry will be featured in an exhibit at The Ansel Adams Gallery from Thursday, November 5, through Saturday, November 7, 2015 from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. 

Sacramento, California - With the release of the full text of the Trans-Pacific Partnership trade agreement, the California Farm Bureau Federation urged the state’s congressional delegation to support the agreement. The TPP would reduce barriers to trade among the United States and 11 other Pacific Rim nations.

Escondido, California - The San Diego Zoo Safari Park welcomed some big arrivals Thursday evening (Nov. 5): Six southern white rhinos arrived via a chartered MD-11 flight from South Africa. The female rhinos, between four and seven years of age, were relocated to the Safari Park from private reserves in South Africa as part of a collaborative conservation effort to save the critically endangered northern white rhino—and all rhino species—from extinction.
