San Francisco, California - State and federal fisheries officials are asking for public assistance and offering a $20 reward for the return of each satellite tag from green sturgeon. The satellite tags, which are programmed to release from the fish after a predetermined time, are most likely to be found along the open ocean coastal portions of San Francisco and San Mateo counties, and the shores and waters of San Francisco Bay, San Pablo Bay, Suisun Bay and the Delta.

Sacramento, California - The California Department of Food and Agriculture is currently accepting proposals for the 2015 California Agriculture Special Interest License Plate (CalAgPlate) grant program. This program makes available an estimated $249,000 in grant funding to promote agricultural education and leadership activities for students at the K-12, post-secondary, and adult education levels. Proceeds generated through the sales of specialized, agriculture-themed license plates through the California Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) have made this opportunity available.

Brown Jr. today announced the first cities – Los Angeles and Zhenjiang – to endorse the Under 2 MOU climate agreement and the renewal of a landmark pact between California and China's National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC), which oversees China’s efforts to address climate change and much of the government’s economic strategy.

Los Angeles, California - Attorney General Kamala D. Harris announced that the California Attorney General’s office was selected as an awardee of the Manhattan District Attorney’s Initiative to eliminate backlogs of untested rape kits. The California Department of Justice’s Rapid DNA Service Team (RADS) will receive $1.6 million over two years to test sexual assault evidence kits.
