Washington, DC - To commemorate World Water Day, March 22, 2018, the U.S. Department of State held a public-private forum: “Increasing U.S. Private Sector Participation to Achieve Global Water Security.” Co-hosted with the U.S. Water Partnership, the event looked at how the U.S. government could better support U.S. companies to deploy water solutions in key countries to meet growing water needs. Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for the Bureau of Oceans and International Environmental and Scientific Affairs Judith Garber and National Executive Committee Member for the U.S. Water Partnership Ambassador Harriet C. Washington, DC - When the U.S. Food and Drug Administration first warned Americans in May 2017 that lead tests manufactured by Magellan Diagnostics may provide inaccurate results for some children and adults in the U.S., the agency made a commitment to continue to aggressively investigate the problem. Since then, the FDA has remained in close contact with the lead test manufacturer as well as Becton Dickinson (BD) & Company, the manufacturer of certain blood sample collection tubes often used alongside many lead tests, as part of our effort to determine the cause of the inaccurate results.

Washington, DC - The Federal Trade Commission (FTC), along with the State Attorneys General from New York and Massachusetts have launched investigations into Cambridge Analytica and Facebook. The FTC is focusing its efforts on Facebook while the State Attorneys general announced a joint investigation into both Cambridge Analytica and Facebook on Tuesday.
