New York, New York - AOL Inc. announced the launch of the AOL Charitable Foundation, a nonprofit private foundation focused on creating opportunities for women, girls and underserved youth, particularly in the technology sector.

The Foundation will develop partnerships, support and make grants to organizations that are providing creative solutions to large challenges currently facing women, girls and underserved youth today through fostering leadership and empowerment, improving economic opportunity, increasing access through education and technology, and cultivating creativity.

The launch of the Foundation represents another facet of AOL's corporate citizenship and builds on AOL's longstanding commitment to strengthening communities and promoting diversity and inclusion. The Foundation will provide its first grants to support the work of four nonprofit organizations focused on fostering young women's leadership, empowerment and access through education and technology across the U.S. These organizations include:
