San Diego, California - Best-selling author Chelsea Clinton will present her new children’s book, Don’t Let Them Disappear: Twelve Endangered Species Across the Globe, at a special event and book signing May 23, 2019 at the San Diego Zoo. Clinton will read from the book, followed by a moderated question-and-answer session from children in the audience with San Diego Zoo Global ambassador Rick Schwartz and finish with a book signing opportunity.

Clinton partnered with illustrator Gianna Marino on this new book about animals that share the planet, and what people can do to help them survive. Don’t Let Them Disappear introduces young readers to some endangered animals and shares what makes them special—and also what threatens them. Taking readers through the course of a day, the book talks about rhinos, tigers, whales, pandas and other endangered animals, and provides helpful tips on what everyone can do to help prevent these animals from disappearing from the world entirely.

The ticketed event is scheduled to begin at the Zoo’s Wegeforth Bowl at 10 a.m. Thursday, May 23. Tickets to the event will go on sale to the public March 23 at sandiegozoo.org. Tickets will remain on sale until the maximum capacity of 1,200 tickets is reached. Ticket packages begin at $27.99 and include admission to the special event and one book. Additional books will be available at the event for $17.99 each plus tax, while supplies last. No other books or memorabilia will be signed. Admission to the Zoo is separate and required.
