Washington, DC - Secretary Kerry met tonight with Saudi Foreign Minister Adel al-Jubeir and United Arab Emirates Foreign Minister Abdullah bin Zayed.

The three ministers discussed a range of regional and bilateral security issues, to include the conflict in Syria and ongoing coalition efforts against Daesh. They discussed ways in which efforts to defeat Daesh can and will intensify across all lines of coalition efforts and asserted the need to explore more support from the international partners to that end.

Following up on the most recent meeting in Vienna, the ministers also expressed the importance of multilateral efforts to pursue a political transition in Syria, in accordance with the Geneva communique, and reaffirmed our mutual goal of achieving a unified, pluralistic, and stable country for all Syrians.

They pledged to continue to support the moderate Syrian opposition while the political track is being pursued and discussed plans for a Saudi-led opposition group conference designed to help unify the groups and arrive at common opposition political principles.

They also discussed developments in Yemen and Libya and pledged to work together in advance of the upcoming COP 21 climate conference in Paris.
