Sacramento, California - Governor Edmund G. Brown Jr. today announced the following appointments:

Dianne Harrison, 67, of Los Angeles, has been reappointed to the Western Interstate Commission for Higher Education, where she has served since 2011. Harrison has been president at California State University, Northridge since 2012. She was president at California State University, Monterey Bay from 2006 to 2012. Harrison served as vice president for academic quality and external programs at Florida State University from 2005 to 2006, where she served in several positions from 1976 to 2004, including associate vice president for academic affairs, dean of graduate studies and dean and professor of the School of Social Work. She is a member of the California State University Program for Education and Research in Biotechnology Presidents’ Commission, California State University Council on Ocean Affairs, Science and Technology, California State University Systemwide Budget Advisory Committee, California State University Technology Steering Committee, American Association of State Colleges and Universities Board, American Council on Education Board, Coalition of Urban Serving Universities Board, Second Nature Board, Climate Leadership Steering Committee, National Collegiate Athletic Association Division I Committee on Academics, Committee to Promote Cultural Diversity and Equity, Los Angeles Area Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors, Valley Presbyterian Hospital Board of Directors, Los Angeles Cleantech Incubator Leadership Council, Los Angeles Coalition for the Economy and Jobs, Valley Economic Alliance Board of Governors, Los Angeles Economic Development Council Executive Committee and the BizFed Advisory Council. Harrison earned a Doctor of Philosophy degree in social work from Washington University in St. Louis and a Master of Social Work degree from the University of Alabama. This position requires Senate confirmation and the compensation covers necessary expenses. Harrison is a Democrat.

Brian Conley, 69, of Big Bear Lake, has been appointed to the Mount San Jacinto Winter Park Authority. Conley has been president and chief executive officer at Community College Connections since 2012. He was a professor at Golden West College from 1975 to 2012. Conley was a member of the California Student Aid Commission from 2010 to 2012, California state chair of the Association of Community College Trustees from 2009 to 2012, a trustee at Rancho Santiago Community College District from 1988 to 2012 and a member of the California Community Colleges Board of Governors from 2000 to 2004. Conley earned a Master of Arts degree in fine arts and education from California State University, Fresno. This position does not require Senate confirmation and there is no compensation. Conley is a Democrat.

Sandra Magana Cuellar, 47, of Corona, has been appointed to the Mount San Jacinto Winter Park Authority. Cuellar has been director of government affairs at Charter Communications since 2000. She was project director at Hispanas Organized for Political Equality from 1997 to 2000, project coordinator at the Contreras-Sweet Company in 1997 and an intern at Consensus Planning Group from 1996 to 1997. Cuellar was an assistant account executive at Oralia Michel Public Relations from 1995 to 1996 and assistant tour publicist at Levine-Schneider Public Relations from 1994 to 1995. She was a member of the California Respiratory Board from 2006 to 2013 and is a member of the Inland Empire Economic Partnership Board of Directors, National Latina Business Women Association of the Inland Empire Board of Directors, Coachella Valley Economic Partnership Board of Directors and Inland Action Board of Directors. Cuellar earned a Master of Arts degree in communication management from the University of Southern California. This position does not require Senate confirmation and there is no compensation. Cuellar is a Democrat.

Jeff Ohlfs, 55, of Twentynine Palms, has been appointed to the Mount San Jacinto Winter Park Authority. Ohlfs held several positions at Joshua Tree National Park from 1990 to 2016, including chief park ranger, district park ranger and park ranger. He was a park ranger at Hot Springs National Park from 1987 to 1990 and Chesapeake and Ohio Canal National Historical Park from 1985 to 1987. Ohlfs is a member of the World Commission on Protected Areas, International Ranger Federation, California State Park Rangers Association, Park Rangers Association of California, Twentynine Palms Historical Society, Boy Scouts of America, International Association of Chiefs of Police, and the International Police Association. This position does not require Senate confirmation and there is no compensation. Ohlfs is a Republican.
