Sacramento, California - In response to the federal government’s recent decision to impose tariffs on steel and aluminum, China has ordered retaliatory tariffs on about $2 billion worth of U.S. food and agricultural exports, which could have a significant negative impact on California’s farmers and ranchers.

Portland, Oregon - The Justice Department today filed denaturalization lawsuits against two convicted war criminals and natives of the former Yugoslavia, who according to the Department’s complaints, murdered civilians and prisoners of war because of their religion and ethnicity, then fraudulently obtained refugee status and later naturalized into U.S. citizenship by concealing their crimes. The civil complaints were filed in federal court in the District of Oregon and the District of Columbia.

Washington, DC - The U.S. Commerce Department’s National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) has announced a cooperative agreement with Florida International University (FIU) to help build national relationships that advance outreach in the cybersecurity education, training and workforce development communities. The collaboration will be managed by NIST’s National Initiative for Cybersecurity Education Program (NICE), as part of its mission to energize and promote a robust network and ecosystem of cybersecurity efforts.

Washington, DC - Today, the Department of Justice, FBI and U.S. Postal Inspection Service (USPIS) announced the results of a four-day long, nationwide law enforcement operation, called Operation Disarray, which targeted vendors and buyers of opioids and cocaine on the Darknet.  This operation was the first coordinated action by the new Joint Criminal Opioid Darknet Enforcement (J-CODE) Team.
