Sacramento, California - Governor Edmund G. Brown Jr. today announced the following appointments:

Christine Hironaka, 28, of Piedmont, has been appointed assistant director for policy development at the California Department of Resources, Recycling and Recovery, where she has served as deputy director for legislative affairs since 2014. Hironaka served as a legislative assistant in the Office of California State Senator Mark Leno from 2010 to 2014 and as a capital fellow in the Office of California State Senator Denise Moreno Ducheny from 2009 to 2010. This position does not require Senate confirmation and the compensation is $100,008. Hironaka is a Democrat.

Steven Temple, 55, of Los Angeles, has been appointed to the California State Assistance Fund for Enterprise, Business and Industrial Development Corporation Board of Directors. Temple has been president and chief executive officer at Business Affairs Management Inc. since 1989. He earned a Master of Science degree in taxation from Golden Gate University. This position does not require Senate confirmation and the compensation is $100 per diem. Temple is a Democrat.
