Los Angeles, California - Special agents from the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation’s Office of Correctional Safety, in conjunction with federal and local authorities, have arrested 15 defendants named in a federal racketeering indictment that describes the development and implementation of a coalition of three criminal street gangs in the Northeast Los Angeles area.

Riverside, California - A former special agent with the Drug Enforcement Administration has been arrested on federal fraud charges for allegedly posing as an active FBI agent and helping a man who posed as a former federal prosecutor to defraud a man who enlisted their help in recovering money lost in two fraudulent investment schemes.

Sacramento, California - Wednesday, after a five-day trial, a federal jury found Sacramento area loan broker and real estate agent, Anthony Salcedo, 34, of Fair Oaks, guilty of one count of conspiracy to commit mail fraud and four counts of mail fraud for his involvement in a mortgage fraud scheme, United States Attorney Benjamin B. Wagner announced.

Sacramento, California - Two portions of Kern County have been placed under quarantine for the Asian citrus psyllid (ACP) following the detections of two ACP within the City of Bakersfield, one in the Westchester area and the other in the Panorama Drive area.  The quarantine zone in the Westchester area measures 63-square miles and in the Panorama Drive area it measures 65-square miles.
