El Centro, California - This morning, at approximately 7:10am, The El Centro Police Department Communications Center received a call of a trash can on fire. A witness indicated the trash can was located on the railroad tracks, west of the 900 block of South 2nd Street.

El Centro Fire Personnel arrived on scene and immediately extinguished the fire. They discovered the charred remains of a male human body, which was burnt beyond recognition. El Centro Police Officers and Detectives were summoned to investigate the incident.

Very little is known about the victim, his identity or the circumstances surrounding the death at this time.
