El Centro, California - Thursday, the Imperial County Sheriff’s Office arrested Alvaro Fernando Gutierrez, 37yrs, transient on charges of theft. The arrest occurred as a result of a reported agriculture theft case and following investigation that linked Gutierrez to the crime.
Niland, California - Monday, the Imperial County Sheriff’s Office responded to a brush fire in the area of Highway 111 and Alcott Road in Niland. Investigation revealed the fire was intentionally started by Donna Cobb, 40 yrs old from Niland, who had been seen in the area and had made threats to burn down a residence also in that area.

The heinous murder of twenty-one Egyptian citizens in Libya by ISIL-affiliated terrorists once again underscores the urgent need for a political resolution to the conflict in Libya, the continuation of which only benefits terrorist groups, including ISIL.
