Energy Department Announces Second Cohort of Innovators in Midwest Entrepreneurship Program

Washington, DC - Today, the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) announced the second cohort of innovators to join Chain Reaction Innovations, the Midwest region's first entrepreneurial research and development (R&D) program based at Argonne National Laboratory (ANL), the nation's first national laboratory. Six innovators were selected from a highly competitive pool of applicants and will begin work at ANL in May 2018.

According to the testimony, consumers are justifiably frustrated by such calls and submitted more than 4.5 million complaints about robocalls in fiscal year 2017. The FTC today reaffirmed its commitment to using every tool at its disposal in its fight against these intrusive and illegal calls.

Washington, DC - Today, U.S. Secretary of Energy Rick Perry announced up to $105.5 million to support America’s continued leadership in energy innovation through solar technology. Under the Department of Energy’s (DOE’s) Solar Energy Technologies Office (SETO), DOE will fund about 70 projects to advance both solar photovoltaic (PV) and concentrating solar thermal power (CSP) technologies, as well as facilitate the secure integration of those technologies into the nation’s electricity grid. Funding will also support efforts that prepare the workforce for the solar industry’s future needs.
