Sacramento, California - Governor Edmund G. Brown Jr. Tuesday issued a proclamation declaring June 2018 as “Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender Pride Month” in the State of California.
FTC Imposes Conditions on Northrop Grumman’s Acquisition of Solid Rocket Motor Supplier Orbital ATK

Washington, DC - The Federal Trade Commission will require Northrop Grumman to supply solid rocket motors, or SRMs, to competitors on a non-discriminatory basis as part of a settlement resolving charges that Northrup’s $7.8 billion acquisition of aerospace and defense contractor Orbital ATK likely would be anticompetitive. The proposed settlement requires Northrop to separate the operation of its SRM business from the rest of the company’s operations with a firewall. It also provides for the Department of Defense to appoint a compliance officer to oversee Northrop’s conduct pursuant to the settlement.

Washington, DC - The Atlantic hurricane season is now upon us, and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) has just released its 2018 seasonal hurricane outlook, which calls for a slightly above average season. The potential range of activity indicates that we could expect 10 to 16 named storms with five to nine becoming hurricanes and one to four becoming major hurricanes. But remember, it only takes one bad storm to wreak havoc, or in the case of the 2017 hurricane season, three.

Washington, DC - Secretary of State Mike Pompeo: "At my request, Deputy Secretary Sullivan established a task force on May 23 to direct a multi-agency response to the unexplained health incidents that have affected a number of U.S. government personnel and family members stationed overseas. The Health Incidents Response Task Force serves as the coordinating body for Department and interagency activities, including identification and treatment of affected personnel and family members, investigation and risk mitigation, messaging, and diplomatic outreach. The Task Force includes interagency partners, such as the Departments of Health and Human Services, Commerce, Justice, Defense and Energy, as well as other members of the foreign affairs community."
FDA takes action against 53 websites marketing unapproved opioids as part of a comprehensive effort to target illegal online sales

Washington, DC - The U.S. Food and Drug Administration Tuesday announced that it has warned nine online networks, operating a total of 53 websites, that they must stop illegally marketing potentially dangerous, unapproved and misbranded versions of opioid medications, including tramadol and oxycodone.
