NASA Orders Second SpaceX Crew Mission to International Space Station

Washington, DC - NASA took another important step Friday in returning U.S. astronaut launches from U.S. soil with the order of a second post-certification mission from commercial provider SpaceX in Hawthorne, California. Commercial crew flights from Florida’s Space Coast to the International Space Station will restore America’s human spaceflight launch capability and increase the time U.S. crews can dedicate to scientific research, which is helping prepare astronauts for deep space missions, including the Journey to Mars.
California releases final plan to transform freight system

Washington, DC - CDC is providing $67 million to help health departments nationwide tackle antibiotic resistance and other patient safety threats, including healthcare-associated infections. The new funding for antibiotic resistance, part of the awards available through CDC’s Epidemiology and Laboratory Capacity for Infectious Diseases Cooperative Agreement (ELC) announced last week, also supports seven new regional laboratories with specialized capabilities allowing rapid detection and identification of emerging antibiotic resistant threats.

Washington, DC - With the help of an expert group of independent physicians and dietary supplement researchers, Consumer Reports identified 15 supplement ingredients currently on the market that are potentially harmful, with risks including organ damage, cancer and cardiac arrest.
