Sacramento, California - CDFA’s Division of Measurement Standards (DMS) is pleased to play a key role in Governor Brown’s 2016 ZEV (Zero Emission Vehicle) Action Plan. ZEV technologies include hydrogen fuel cell electric vehicles (FCEVs) and plug-in electric vehicles (PEVs), which include both pure battery electric vehicles (BEVs) and plug-in hybrid electric vehicles (PHEVs).

Washington, DC - The Department of State has designated Haytham ‘Ali Tabataba’i also known as Abu ‘Ali Al-Tabataba’i, as a Specially Designated Global Terrorist (SDGT) under section 1(b) of Executive Order (E.O.) 13224, which imposes sanctions on foreign persons determined to have committed, or pose a serious risk of committing, acts of terrorism that threaten the security of U.S. nationals or the national security, foreign policy, or economy of the United States. As a result of this designation, all property subject to U.S. jurisdiction in which Haytham ‘Ali Tabataba’i has any interest is blocked and U.S. persons are generally prohibited from engaging in any transactions with Haytham ‘Ali Tabataba’i.
Assemblymember Eduardo Garcia hosts Workshop to Increase Investment Tools in Imperial County

Calexico, California - Assemblymember Eduardo Garcia in partnership with public finance industry experts will host a workshop on Thursday for public agencies in Imperial Valley seeking to expand their financing tool-box. Enhanced Infrastructure Financing Districts (EIFD) and the Community Revitalization Authority, also known as AB 2, will be the topics discussed during the workshop being held at the San Diego State – Calexico campus. This will be an opportunity for staff in public finance and elected officials to learn and better understand how to utilize these financing mechanisms that could help fund public improvement projects in their community.
European School Administrators Collaborate With Americans To Support Refugee and Immigrant Youth

Washington, DC - From October 23 to November 3, 20 European school principals, vice principals, and district and regional educators will travel to the United States to discuss strategies to support the integration of refugee and immigrant youth in schools and communities. The education leaders from France, Germany, the Netherlands, Sweden, and the United Kingdom will meet with representatives of schools, community organizations, U.S. government agencies, policy institutes, and non-governmental organizations in Washington, DC.

Washington, DC - U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry and Secretary of Defense Ashton Carter convened a “2+2” meeting with Republic of Korea (ROK) Foreign Minister Yun Byung-se and Minister of National Defense Han Min-koo in Washington, D.C. on October 19, 2016. The U.S.-ROK “2+2” session, the fourth of its kind since 2010, preceded the 48th Security Consultative Meeting (SCM) between Secretary Carter and Minister Han on October 20, 2016, at the Pentagon.
