Washington, DC - Secretary Kerry spoke today via phone with Japanese Foreign Minister Kishida regarding the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea’s nuclear test.

The Secretary reiterated the steadfast commitment of the United States to the security of Japan and emphasized the importance of a unified international response to the D.P.R.K.’s provocative actions. He also emphasized the importance of continued close bilateral cooperation with Japan and trilateral coordination with the Republic of Korea.
