Imperial, California - It was inevitable that the lagging economy would force the tooth fairy to cut back on payouts to tots when they lose their teeth, according the Association of Mature American Citizens.  The newest Visa survey shows that when a kid leaves a lost tooth under the pillow, the child can expect only $3.19 in the swap-24 cents less than what kids got last year.

Visa has conducted its tooth fairy poll for six years and reports that this is the second year in a row that lost teeth have lost value, much to the chagrin of boys and girls across the country.  It used to be that children could expect $74 for all the teeth they lose as they grow; they can now expect only $64.
