Washington, DC - If you have new research you’d like to present at PrivacyCon – the FTC’s January 14, 2016, national conference to explore trends in data security and consumer privacy – we need to hear from you by midnight tonight.

PrivacyCon is something new for the FTC. We’re bringing together whitehat researchers, academics, policymakers, industry representatives, consumer advocates and others to discuss their original research and the implications for consumers. We put out the call for research a few months ago and have received dozens of intriguing public proposals so far. Once we’ve had a chance to review all the submissions filed by tonight’s deadline, we’ll start letting researchers know if they’ve been selected to present.

Even if you don’t have research, mark your calendar to attend PrivacyCon on January 14th at the FTC’s Constitution Center conference facility, 400 7th Street, S.W., in Washington, DC.  It’s free and open to the public. If you plan to attend, email us at This email address is being protected from spambots.
