Washington, DC - Deputy Secretary of State Antony Blinken will travel to Hanoi, Vietnam on May 16. While in Hanoi, Deputy Secretary Blinken will meet with senior Vietnamese government officials and representatives of civil society organizations. He will then travel on to Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam on May 19, where he will engage with youth at an American Center Innovation Lab video design competition, discuss education partnerships, and interact with private sector representatives.

Deputy Secretary Blinken will then visit Jakarta, Indonesia on May 20 for meetings with senior Indonesian government officials, Permanent Representatives to the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN), and with local business leaders. He also will give remarks on democracy and civil society in the region to an audience of young leaders.

On May 21-22, Deputy Secretary Blinken will then travel to Burma for meetings with senior Burmese government officials, political leaders, participants in the Young Southeast Asian Leaders Initiative, and members of civil society.

Deputy Secretary Blinken will return to Washington, D.C., on May 23.
