Los Angeles, California - The FBI and partners the LAPD and the Culver City Police Department are seeking the public’s assistance in learning the identity of a man suspected in three attempted bank robberies Thursday in Culver City and West Los Angeles. The suspect can be seen in bank surveillance photographs below and is described by witnesses as a black male with dreadlock-style hair and sunglasses wearing a black suit with a striped tie.

The suspect was described as being in his early 40s; between 5’10” and 6’2” in height; and between 180 to 200 pounds.

The attempted robberies were reported at the following banks:

During the robberies, the suspect presented a demand note that said “This is a robbery, give me the money” and demanded cash in various denominations. According to witnesses, the suspect made a gesture suggesting he had a weapon under his coat. The suspect also made verbal demands for cash and threatened to harm a female victim in one of the banks if his demands were not met. In each case, the suspect fled the bank on foot before receiving money.
