Washington, DC - The United States and Japan held their fourth annual Nonproliferation Dialogue in Tokyo, May 11-12. The annual meeting is one of several exchanges held by the United States and Japan each year to strengthen bilateral cooperation to address the threat posed by the proliferation of weapons of mass destruction and their means of delivery.

Interagency experts from both sides met to discuss a range of nonproliferation and counterproliferation challenges and how our countries can best cooperate to address those challenges. This meeting put special emphasis on promoting effective and robust enforcement by third countries of UN Security Council Resolution 2270 concerning North Korea. Both sides agreed to meet in Tokyo again next year.
