Calexico, California - Sunday, U.S. Border Patrol agents from the Calexico station were conducting their assigned duties when they discovered approximately 275 pounds of abandoned marijuana with an estimated value of $123,750.
The bundles were discovered at approximately 10:30 p.m., one-half mile east of Gordons Well and south of Interstate 8. The area is approximately 30 miles east of the Calexico downtown Port of Entry. This area is a known area of interest for off-road enthusiasts and the Border Patrol asks that if the public sees suspicious activity, report it.
The marijuana bundles were turned over to the Drug Enforcement Administration.
