Border Patrol Arrests a Felon Gang Member

Calipatria, California - Yesterday, U.S. Border Patrol agents assigned to the Calexico station apprehended a dangerous gang member attempting to make an illegal entry into the United States today.

The incident occurred when Border Patrol agents observed a 38-year-old Mexican national, later identified as Miguel Angel Hernandez-Castillo, as he entered the United States illegally from Mexico at approximately 8 p.m.  Agents arrested Hernandez without incident before he could reach nearby neighborhoods of downtown Calexico.

Hernandez was transported to the Calexico Border Patrol station, where it was revealed he was an active member of the “Fresno Bulldogs” criminal street gang out of Fresno, Calif., with previous felony convictions for; dangerous drugs, weapons offence, and possession of stolen property.

An Immigration Judge had previously removed Hernandez from the United States on, March 7, 2001.

Hernandez is in Border Patrol custody and will be presented for prosecution for re-entry after being previously removed from the United States.
