Ocotillo, California - El Centro Sector Border Patrol continues to save lives during this hot summer, with a new total of 13 rescued illegal aliens in the last five weeks.
The latest incident occurred yesterday at approximately 11 a.m., when a Border Patrol agent on patrol tracked a group of illegal aliens near Old Highway 80 and Highway S-2, approximately 22 miles west of downtown Calexico. The agent encountered four individuals, one of whom appeared to be suffering from heat related illnesses. Emergency medical services were notified, and the man was provided treatment by responding emergency medical technicians and transported to El Centro Regional Medical Center.
After being released, the 57-year-old man was determined to be a Mexican citizen illegally present in the United States and was transported to the El Centro Border Patrol station for processing and further evaluation.
