Ocotillo, California - U.S. Border Patrol agents assigned to the El Centro Station arrested a previously deported gang member west of the Calexico yesterday.

At approximately 11:30 a.m., a man was apprehended by Border Patrol agents when he illegally entered the United States about 29 miles west of the Calexico port of entry near Inkopah Mountains.  Agents later.

The man was transported to the El Centro Border Patrol station for processing.  There, agents identified the man as Franklin Eduardo Erazo Ramos.  Agents also discovered Erazo was a member of the notorious “18th Street” criminal gang.

Erazo, a 35-year-old citizen of El Salvador, is in Border Patrol custody and will be further processed for his illegal entry into the United States.

From October 1, 2014 through August 31, 2015, El Centro Sector had 14,511 apprehensions.
