Imperial, California - Imperial Irrigation District has kicked off its annual summer energy conservation campaign. This year’s theme is “Energy conservation is contagious. Pass it on!” This summer, IID is sharing energy conservation tips with customers and encouraging them to pass them on to their friends, family and neighbors to help everyone save money.

The campaign aims to curb energy demand during the peak hours of 1-7 p.m. Customers can help minimize escalating demand and save on their energy bill by simply not using major appliances during peak hours and setting their thermostats at 78 degrees or higher. Customers can also help increase conservation awareness, as well as the effective impact of these energy saving tips, by sharing them with others.

IID generates and secures power resources to serve its customers at the lowest cost possible year-round. Energy consumption is at its highest during the summer months and resources are most expensive during peak hours. Everyone can help use resources wisely by implementing energy saving practices into their daily routines and sharing them with others. After all, energy conservation is contagious, so pass it on.
